About the Ninemile Wildlife Workgroup
The Ninemile Wildlife Workgroup is a non-profit organization of volunteers and citizens concerned with maintaining wildlife movement through the regional Ninemile Wildlife Corridor – a critical wildlife linkage area connecting large blocks of intact habitat in the northern Rocky Mountains. Since our inception in March 2005, we have collaborated with county, state, and federal government agencies, non-governmental organizations, private businesses, and landowners to maintain critical wildlife movement opportunities through our valleys while increasing human safety. We do this through field research, educational outreach, community events, and conflict-prevention resources. Some of our ongoing projects include wildlife monitoring using motion-triggered cameras, a bear-resistant garbage bin loaner program, an annual wildlife lecture series, and semi-annual newsletters that are distributed to NWW members and all residents of the greater Ninemile-Sixmile area.

NWW is currently 100 members strong and growing! We continuously seek to increase our membership in order to develop a strong network of individuals interested and active in helping to maintain wildlife connectivity through the Ninemile Wildlife Corridor. Monthly meetings are held at 7 pm on the second Tuesday of most months at the Historic Ninemile Ranger Station on Remount Road. Come and meet the group!
